Paper Exhibition is an anthology of writings by curator and writer Raimundas Malašauskas published in collaboration with Kunstverein Publishing, Sternberg Press, Sandberg Institute, and The Baltic Notebooks by Anthony Blunt.

SUZON—both a reprint of Raimundas Malašauskas sold-out book Paper Exhibition from 2012 and a new collection of writings by the author that have happened since—offers a window onto Malašauskas’ worldview, based on collective improvisation, congregation and continuous drift. It includes essays, exhibition guides, personal letters, song lyrics, an opening speech and a cocktail recipe offering a glimpse of what perhaps in a few years we will look back upon as L’esprit du temps.

This series of translations from fivehundred places is designed to explore some of the outer reaches of translation. Each book in the series is dedicated to multiple translations of a single poem. Inspired by a comment from Ilya Kaminsky about how translation should open windows and not create mirrors, artists, dancers, musicians, poets, philosophers, curators, writers and visual thinkers were invited to imagine translations from their unique perspective, using a poem as a starting point, to make a version of that poem.

Produced on the occasion of the 2009 ars viva prize for fine arts. Mariana Castillo Deball, Jay Chung & Q Takeki Maeda, and Dani Gal examine historical fragments, documents, and objects in a new light. The artists take on the roles of amateur archaeologists as they work with found objects and fragments; even though it is clear that all display an obvious interest in historical objects, instead of providing any sort of conclusion regarding history as a whole they play an associative game, which formally resembles Aby Warburg’s Mnemosyne Atlas, while reflecting upon personal encounters with objects and places.
