These forms of social structures are reflected in the materials assembled in this catalogue: invitation cards, flyers, fanzines, journals, and texts from the 1990s and 2000s. Documents that are arranged chronologically on a timeline provide an insight into the developments of visual art at that time in Cologne and New York. Selected historical essays and reviews reflect virulent theoretical debates; interspersed data point to socio-political events and influential exhibitions. The catalogue accompanies the exhibition of the Schröder Donation with works by Kai Althoff, Cosima von Bonin, KP Brehmer, Tom Burr, Lukas Duwenhögger, Isa Genzken, Dan Graham, Renée Green, Ull Hohn, Hilary Lloyd, Lucy McKenzie, Christian Philipp Müller, Nils Norman, Stephen Prina, and Danh Vo.

Produced on the occasion of two exhibitions by Lucy McKenzie at Galerie Buchholz in Berlin and New York. The book takes the form of an inventory from an estate sale. It lists all items and describes them with faux provenances and sources.

The first book by the artist Lucy McKenzie, published on the occasion of her exhibition at Galerie Buchholz, Köln, 7 September – 6 October, 2001. This book by Lucy McKenzie presents her work from a three year period in text and image. Her huge paintings illustrate interiors and reference interior design drafts from the 19th century. In these paintings, which are up to eight metres tall, in this book she explains the motivation behind her complex approach. This is complimented by two more written pieces: a fictional account of her time studying Trompeloeil painting at the Ecole van der Kelen (a traditional painting school in Brussels) and a homage to the fashion designer Beca Lipscombe, one of her collaborators in Atelier EB.

Atelier E.B: Passer-by is edited Beca Lipscombe & Lucy McKenzie and examines an essential facet of the fashion industry: the world of mannequins and retail display. Since the Surrealists took them up in the early twentieth century, mannequin have been an enduring motif within fine art. Lipscombe and McKenzie un-pack the disciplines of window dressing, look to radical thinkers and makers who dissolved the dividing line between fine art and commercial display, and piece together a compelling narrative that encompasses ethnography, statuary, dolls, the world fairs and our digital future.
