Produced on the occasion of Michael Stevenson’s 2012 exhibitions at Portikus, Frankfurt and Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City.

A plane is lodged in the Portikus attic to be seen across the river. In keeping with Stevenson’s commitment to producing objects that animate historical narratives, often as replicas, facsimiles or architectural re-constructions, the object will be transformed into an image through the very fragile and the most minute effects of optical lenses and mirrors, so that it appears in the main exhibition space.

Accompanying a series of solo collaborations in 2020, this publication offers the first comprehensive and global perspective on Jeremiah Day’s work as an artist, performer, researcher and teacher. As it details Day’s specific works and evolution between visual and performing arts and between political reflection and engagement the result also serves as sourcebook for the legacy of the intersection between dance and the visual arts of the 1960s and 70’s and the models of cultural practice emerging from the work of Hannah Arendt.

Rendered in pallid, ghostly tones, Silke Otto-Knapp’s watercolors and gouaches recall turn-of-the-century painters such as Bakst, or children’s illustrators like Arthur Rackham. Her delicately delineated vignettes of encounters, dances and isolate doings seem to take place beyond a veil, in a submarine realm of amphitheaters and botanical gardens. Present Time Exercise surveys her work from the past five years.

Dear Clay gathers a selection of spreads extracted from Stéphanie Baechler’s meticulous sketchbooks displayed in chronological order (2013–2019), as well as 35mm photographs documenting her working process. Providing an intimate insight into her artistic practice, it reveals what facilitates the work from its conception to its making, transportation, and installation.

For this solo exhibition in CCA, Glasgow, entitled It isnt what it used to be and will never be again (with reference to La révolution n’est plus ce qu’elle était, by Henri Lefebvre with Catherine Régulier, 1978), Bik Van der Pol have brought together works that are are hoovering around questions of information, what distribution of information might or might not set off in the public realm, and if action can, should or is tak(e)(ing) place when seemingly nothing seems to happen.
