Mappe
Annaïk Lou Pitteloud
Published by Edition Fink, Zurich, 2016, 134 pages (colour & b/w ill.), 19 × 24.5 cm, English
Price: €25

Produced on the occasion of the artist’s exhibition at the Kunstmuseum St. Gallen.

The two publications Mappe and Dossier represent two different monographic compilations of works by the artist Annaïk Lou Pitteloud and appear as catalogues to the solo exhibitions at the Kunstmuseum St. Gallen and the Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts in Lausanne. The concept for the two publications was developed with these exhibitions in mind, but will be continued in the third, comprehensive edition Folder. The basic idea of all three publications is that of a modular documentation of works. Dossiers on all of the artist’s works are created according to a strict grid. Separated by type of content, titles, descriptions of works, notes, documentary images and texts are compiled. Reproductions of drawings and reprints of printed matter used in the exhibitions complete the collection.

Magali Reus
Published by Mousse Publishing, Milan, 2016, 80 pages, softcover w. plastic dust jacket, (colour & b/w ill.), 16 × 23 cm, English
Price: €25

In the spring of 2015, Magali Reus opened the first in a series of four exhibitions of new work co-commissioned and presented by SculptureCenter, New York; Hepworth Wakefield, England; Westfälischer Kunstverein, Münster, Germany; and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin, Italy. The culmination of these collaborative projects is documented in this publication, marking an important chapter in the evolution of Reus’s work.

Renowned for her interest in the relationship between mass-produced articles and the human body in the context of today’s digital society, Magali Reus draws on a vast range of formal influences and references, from the domestic to the industrial, the functional to decorative, creating pieces that evolve as an accumulation and layering of sculptural details. For her, objects like fridges, padlocks, seating, and street curbs are not seen only as facilitators of our everyday actions, but also as physical receptacles for our bodies.

Published by AraMER, Ghent, 2016, 96 pages (b/w ill.), 11.5 × 16.5 cm, English
Price: €17 (Temporarily out of stock)

In mines and ports across the world, human labor sustains our industrial and globalized economies. Allan Sekula imagined and set out to realize an artwork, The Dockers’ Museum, which makes the struggles of miners, dockworkers, and seafarers visible through networks of metonymic objects that embody these workers’ imaginaries. The collaborative notes gathered in this publication accompany the presentation of the Mining Section (Bureau des mines) of The Dockers’ Museum at the Anatomical Theater in Leuven in the Fall of 2016.
