Sheila Hicks (born July 24, 1934) is an American artist and a pioneering figure in fibre art. Working across six decades, she expanded the scale and ambition of textile practice from small hand woven works to monumental hanging columns made up of vibrant fibres that occupy architectural space.

J.J. Schoonhoven (1914–1994) became known for his sculptural reliefs and works on paper. For almost forty years, Schoonhoven worked on the development of these reliefs from papier-mâché, paper and cardboard, in addition to his job as a civil servant at the PTT (the Dutch state-owned company responsible for post, telegraphy, telephony and radiotelephony.)
